Live Securely

In Max Lucado’s book, The Great House of God, he says: “God has no interest in being our weekend getaway or a Sunday bungalow or a summer cottage. Don’t consider using God as a vacation cabin or an eventual retirement home. He wants you under His roof now and always.” I love that! “Under His Roof.” Under the shelter of the Most High is where I want to spend all my time and live securely the rest of my life.

When we see God as our dwelling place and not just an occasional visiting place, then we are always covered and secure. It’s when we think we don’t need a shelter from this world that we find ourselves in unsafe places and under attack of the enemy. We must find how to be in the secret place and make it our dwelling.

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean andrely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trustand find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.” (Psalms 91:1-4 AMPC)
